My daughter has recently moved to live at 76 Ashmore Road.

I have tried to find out who was living in her house in 1911 but with no luck.

The last house on the 1911 Census seems to be 60 Ashmore Road and then Midland Road is the next address.

Can anyone help?

    Hello Lynn

At 1911, Walter Chapman, a Railway Guard and his wife Annie were living there with a boarder called William Dunning who was a taylor’s apprentice. They had been married for 7 years but had no children.

Walter and Annie Chapman both aged 34 lived at 76 in 1911. They had been married 7 years. They also had a boarder, William Dunning aged 15, a tailor’s apprentice from Crewe.
By 1920 the Watkins family had moved in and it remained their family home until at least 1960.
